An Imaging Checklist for the Diabetic Dog (NYV 2024)
Détails du produit
Expected and unexpected imaging findings can influence insulin response in the treatment of diabetes of the canine patient. A checklist of thoracic and abdominal imaging findings (radiographs of the thorax and mostly abdominal ultrasound) will be discussed in a case-based format.
- Diagnostic imaging in the form of three view thoracic radiographs and an abdominal ultrasound are standard components to the work-up of diabetic dogs. Participants will gain an appreciation for this.
- Participants will come away with an understanding of the common sources of inflammation complicating diabetes or resulting in ketoacidosis in dogs, mostly focused on abdominal imaging (radiographs and ultrasound)
- We will review diffuse hepatopathies, with focus on the changes expected sonographically for the diabetic dog
- We will discuss thoracic radiographic findings of dogs with chronic endocrinopathies and geriatric dogs in general
