Dermatophytosis is one of the most common fungal infections in dogs and cats, posing a real risk of transmission to other animals and humans. There are multiple diagnostic methods and advantages and disadvantages of these. Treatment can be difficult, is often frustrating and as sometimes, ringworm may mimic other diseases, this further complicates the situation.
