What does the Effitix L pack for large dogs contain?

The Effitix L 20–40 kg pack 2 contains two boxes of 4 pipettes. In total, it provides 8 pipettes of 4.4 ml, dosed for large dogs within that weight range.

Its combination of fipronil and permethrin is effective against fleas and ticks. It also acts as a repellent, preventing sand flies and mosquitoes from feeding.

Uses of the Effitix L twin-pack

It is indicated when a dog has fleas or ticks, or where there is a risk of infestation, and repellency against Phlebotomus perniciosus, Culex pipiens or Aedes aegypti is also required.

A single application provides protection against new infestations of fleas and ticks for 4 weeks. Protection against sand flies and mosquitoes also lasts for 4 weeks. No antiparasitic product completely eliminates the risk of bites or the transmission of infectious agents.

How is this formulation administered?

1. Check using scales that the dog weighs between 20 and 40 kg.
2. Remove a pipette from the blister pack and snap off the top along the score line.
3. Part the coat to expose the skin.
4. Apply the entire contents to 2 to 4 spots along the back.

Use one L pipette per treatment and leave a minimum interval of 4 weeks. The area must be out of reach of the dog’s tongue and allowed to dry before contact with people or other animals.

Which dogs is it intended for?

It is intended for dogs weighing 20 to 40 kg and at least 12 weeks old. It is not suitable for animals that are ill, convalescing or hypersensitive to any of its components.

Rare adverse effects

Very rarely, itching, erythema or alopecia may occur at the application site. Vomiting, behavioural changes and neurological signs have also been reported. Licking may cause temporary salivation. Seek veterinary advice if you notice any reaction.

Precautions before using Effitix L

• Do not apply to cats or rabbits; permethrin is extremely toxic to cats.
• Keep the dog away from any cats in the household until the skin is dry.
• Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth, mucous membranes and hand-to-mouth contact.
• Do not allow your dog to swim in rivers, ponds or irrigation channels for 48 hours.
• Consult your vet regarding use on pregnant or lactating bitches.
