What does the Effitix S 4–10 kg pack of 2 contain?

Effitix S pack 2 is a twin-pack for small dogs weighing between 4 and 10 kg. Each box contains 4 pipettes, making a total of 8 x 1.1 ml pipettes in the pack.

It combines fipronil with permethrin in a spot-on solution for application to the back. It controls fleas and ticks and provides repellency against sand flies and mosquitoes.

What is this Effitix S pack used for?

It is administered in the event of infestations or a risk of fleas and ticks when repellent action is also required. The long-lasting activity against fleas and ticks lasts for 4 weeks.

For 4 weeks, it also provides anti-feeding activity against Phlebotomus perniciosus, Culex pipiens and Aedes aegypti. However, an isolated bite is still possible.

Composition of Effitix S

How do you use an Effitix S pipette?

1. Check that the dog weighs between 4 and 10 kg.
2. Remove the pipette from the pack, hold it upright and snap off the top.
3. Part the fur until the skin is visible.
4. Empty the pipette onto two separate spots along the dog’s back.

Apply one full S-sized pipette and leave at least 4 weeks between applications. Do not allow the dog to lick the area or another animal to groom the wet area.

Which dogs can use Effitix S?

It is intended for dogs weighing between 4 and 10 kg and aged at least 12 weeks. The dog must be in good health and must not be hypersensitive to the active ingredients or excipients.

Reported adverse effects

Very rarely, redness, itching or localised hair loss may occur. Vomiting, hyperactivity, lethargy, tremours or convulsions have also been reported. Ingestion through licking may cause temporary salivation. Seek veterinary advice if a reaction occurs.

Precautions before and after application

• Do not use on cats or rabbits. Permethrin poses a serious risk to cats.
• Keep the dog and any cats living in the same household separate until the product has dried completely.
• Avoid contact with the eyes and mouth; wash with water in the event of accidental contact.
• Do not allow the dog to swim in open water for 48 hours afterwards.
• For pregnant or lactating bitches, consult your vet.
