Diabetes mellitus is not only a life-changing diagnosis for our patients, but their care-givers too. A multi-disciplinary approach is key to provide holistic support and nurse clinics are the perfect way to provide excellent outpatient care. From discharge, through stabilisation and into the long-term maintenance phase, nurses can be an instrumental part in both the medical process and in supporting quality of life for the patient and their care-giver.
