Importance of Evaluting Kidney Function Prior to an Anesthetic Event for Optimal Care

Anesthesia and the perioperative period can have adverse effects on cardiovascular and renal systems. Preanesthetic evaluation minimizes risk and may uncover pre-existing subclinical disease. Rationale assessment using newer biomarkers and management will be discussed.
