Although improving the quality of life or our patients is the reason why we practice veterinary medicine, it remains rare that practitioners maximise the use of quality of life assessment during their consults. Especially in an era where contextualised veterinary medicine is suggested to replace the old fashioned term of "gold standard care", such quality of life assessment will prove crucial.
