Rx Equioxx Tablets for Horses

A non-steroidal, anti-inflammatory drug which controls pain and inflammation in horses. It helps reduce the symptoms of osteoarthritis, including limping, lameness, swelling of the joints, and stiffness. It comes in the form of chewable tablets making it perfectly palatable and ingestible and can be administered with or without the accompaniment of feed. A daily dose of this medication should provide lasting effect for up to 24 hours, and it has a safety profile when administered to the horse at the proper, recommended dosage.

Dosage & Administration:

Equioxx is sold by prescription only, but is made for easy administration by an owner. The recommended dosage of EQUIOXX tablets is one 57-mg tablet administered orally to horses weighing 800-1300 lbs (0.04-0.07 mg/lb or 0.09-0.15 mg/kg), once daily for up to 14 days. For ease of administration, EQUIOXX tablets may be given with food.

The overall duration of treatment with any firocoxib formulation in horses should not exceed 14 days.

Storage Information:

Store at room temperature, between 59°-86° F (15°-30° C). Brief periods up to 104°F (40°C) are permitted.
